During the period when James Gordon was not in charge of the Gotham City Police Department Stacy held the responsibility of activating the Bat-Signal to summon Batman so the police would not have summoned a vigilante as the GCPD commissioner of the time wished to distance the GCPD with the Batman. Stacy worked as a temp at Gotham Central, she admired Gordon and had a crush on Batman. She was once almost killed by the Joker.
