He was a weakling as a result of a "rare disease" he contracted when visiting Hong Kong with his uncle.
Allan Vale is also an genius inventor and an idolizer of Superboy. His uncle developed a super formula which give him Superboy-like powers. Supremo uses his super-strength and invulnerability to assist Superboy in several heroic feats. Before tragically succumbing to the incurable disease, Supremo fought a super-strong dragon-creature, who was Superboy in disguise. Supremo heroically fought him, and beat the creature but died as a result from his disease. He died as a Hero.
