Origin
Dr. Phillip Sylvian, the longtime friend of the original Black Orchid (Susan Linden-Thorne) had grown several human/plant hybrid clones of the original. Although most were destroyed on the orders of Lex Luthor, two survived. These were Flora Black and Suzy.
Creation
Suzy first appeared in Black Orchid #1 (December 1988) from writer Neil Gaiman and artist Dave McKean.
Major Story Arcs
Suzy was viewed as immature out of the two sisters. Suzy saw her big sister, Flora as the hero, as Suzy was scared to act against those who harmed the environment, while Flora would stand for what she believed in. Suzy feared humans, while Flora became friends with plenty of them. The two sisters went on a journey of self discovery, both seeing the reality of Earth for themselves, this made Suzy open up more.
Suzy found herself loving the world, seeing people as an important part of nature but Flora became the opposite, lashing out and killing humans. Suzy hoped that her sister was still in there, but after coming across a number of victims Flora had killed, she knew that she needed to be stopped. Suzy protected humans from Flora, and while she couldn't beat her alone, she kept Flora busy long enough for the mortals to come up with a plan of their own that killed Flora.
Suzy traveled to the Green, where she would embrace herself as being more than she or Flora ever thought she could be, she wasn't the immature sister no longer, she was the Black Orchid.
Trinity
Suzy wouldn't appear much afterwards, but would cameo here and there occasionally as defender of humanity and nature.
