Velg Lortnan is the father of Kyrse and the man in charge of Lortnan Manor. He does not care about the rebellion against the Mygorgs or about Starfire's crusade - he only wants his son to survive.
Unfortunately, in his attempt to convince the Mygorgs that he did not take part in or condone Starfire's occupation of the manor, he shot and killed Kyrse. Kyrse died in his arms.
