Orthopedix was a tavern-keeper who thought he made the bargain of the century when Tremensdelirious, a retired Roman soldier, offered him the ownership of a village in exchange for a couple of drinks.Unfortunately said ownership had been given to the soldier by Caesar as a form of practical joke. Nonetheless Orthopedix arrived in Asterix's village and started a political campaign to replace Vitalstatistix as leader.
