Aspis was charged to protect the Rubies of Virtue, which had been stolen by the Serpent-God before him be destroyed. For years she oversaw the yolks until they were stolen by a group of adventurers - the Leon Galtran's group. As punishment for failing in her mission, Sszzaas (who was not killed as previously believed) imprisoned Aspis in human form, keeping her chained in the same temple which is supposed to be protect by her.
