Origin

Kizzie and her brother Rooney grew up in the country on their parent's farm. Kizzie was picked on in school by the other kids for her looks, the meanest was the "slow" plow farmer's kid, Hugh. One day Rooney had enough of his sister being picked on and decided to scare Hugh. He pushed a cart towards the boy, with the intent to scare him, but Hugh was too slow and was crushed by the cart. Kizzie and Rooney were the only witnesses, and Rooney forced his sister to help him hide the body in the river and keep her mouth shut. This act always weighed on her conscious, but she loved her brother and fear them both going to jail.

Years later, Rooney woke Kizzie up in the middle of the night to tell her that he pissed off the wrong people and he was leaving town. This broke her heart to lose her brother, and she put herself into working on the farm, that was until she met Martin, the love of her life.

Martin and Kizzie got engaged and everything seem going great for Kizzie, until she realized Martin wanted her to be a stay at home wife and mother, and Kizzie wanted to travel the world. Kizzie reluctantly excepted her fate until the day the Traveling Carnival came to town.

Martin and Kizzie went with some friends and that was when she met the Flying Fenton and fell in love again. She left Martin, disgraced her family and ran away to join her new love working for the carnival.

Life was rough for Kizzie, full of hard labor and degrading carnival goers. That changed the day Kizzie caught Fenton flirting and beat him up in front of the carnival owner. She assumed she was going to be fired but the owner saw potential and made Kizzie the new Strong woman.

Things seemed to be going well. Kizzie was famous and well taken care of but then she discovered she was pregnant. Fenton demanded she abort the baby or else he would leave her. Kizzie, still in love, obeyed, another regret in her life.

Then a few days later Fenton had an accident and plunged to his death. Kizzie couldn't stay in the carnival, because the memory of Fenton haunted her, so she went to get a factory job. This was when Rooney returned into her life. He had gotten some girl pregnant and couldn't take care of "the little goon". He dumped the baby off with Kizzie. Kizzie went back to the carnival for her old job back and raised the baby among her real "family".

Years later, the little runt would help her practice her wrestling moves and help around the circus. Then one day her nephew was caught in a shootout with mob boss Labrazio and the police. Kizzie jumped in front of the bullets sacrificing herself to save her last family member. The little boy would grow up to become The Goon and avenged his aunt's death by killing Labrazio and taking over his criminal empire

Creation

Kizzie was created by Eric Powell for his series The Goon.

The story of Kizzie raising the Goon is told in several issues as the origin of the Goon. Her image is seen on posters all around Lonely Street but it wasn't until The Goon #38, that Kizzie's backstory was explained.

Major Story Arcs

The Goon: Volume 1

The Goon, trying to waste time before G-Man Smith and the Zombie Priest kill him, tells the story of how he meets Labrazio. This story starts with Kizzie taking him at the circus and showing the ropes. The story ends with Kizzie's death and Labrazio taking pity on the now orphaned little boy. Unknown to the G-man and Z.P. the Goon then killed Labrazio for killing and disrespecting his late aunt.

The Goon: Volume 3
