Spider is playing a game of cards in the back of Norton's Pub when The Goon busts in and demands his money. Spider tries to reason with the leg breaker but to no avail. The Goon attacks Spider, and even though Spider get a lucky bite on the Goon, he no match for the enraged hired thug. The Goon leaves Spider alive and demands his $5 the next day.
