Origin

Pushpaw is a character from the Fantagraphics series Frank. Pushpaw isn't the most exalted creature in the world, but what he lacks in subtle strength he more than makes up for in pluck and goodnaturedness. Pushpaw's inborn sense of fair play will never allow him to exploit an advantage gained falsely. When all is said and done he's just a loveable street scrapper with extra room in the bulkhead.

Pushpaw was created by Jim Woodring.

Character Development

Pushpaw is a male counterpart to the character Pupshaw, Frank's pet. The two are completely devoted to one another. Pushpaw has been known to defend Frank and Pupshaw, attacking monsters and coming to their aid when danger presents itself.
