Vaughn Barron was abducted along with a number of other random individuals and subjected to horrific experiments by an as-yet unidentified organization. Barron's body was bisected, and his right half was grafted to a powerful robotic body. Along with fellow experimentee Vincent Brock (aka Brain Bruiser), the two planned and executed an escape from their captors.

Barron realized the opportunity he'd been handed to advance his own agenda, and began a series of strategies to realize it. Brock, with no other available option, remains with him as his partner.

Barron and Brock both encountered the third American Eagle in Philadelphia, after Brock attempted a robbery and had been taken into custody. Both villains eluded capture, and remain at large.
