If ever a hero’s powers matched their personality, there could be no better example than Johnny Sol: flamboyant, hot- headed, and rebellious, but with a roguish charm and a heart of gold.

Johnny made a name for himself battling crime in Adelaide, and when he received his invitation to join the newly-reformed First Guard following The Decimation event, his immediate reply was, “It’s about time.”

Johnny has served on the team with distinction, though certainly not without interpersonal fireworks. His personality often clashes with team leader Fighting Yank, and he openly scoffs at the American Hero Registration Act and its main enforcer, Agent Simon Kirby. However, despite all his braggadocio, Johnny is a solid and dependable member of the team.

Johnny Sol possesses the ability to generate and manipulate fire and flames. He can psionically manipulate fire and flames that already exist, outside of those he himself created. He can increase or decrease the size and intensity of these flames, as well as shape them according to his will and imagination. He also possesses the ability to generate fire on his own, and can project blasts of flame and heat at temperatures hot enough to melt through a 20-foot block on concrete or reduce steel to its liquid form, create shields of flame, and can also simply raise or lower the ambient air temperature in a 20-foot radius around himself.

Johnny possesses personal resistance to heat and flames up to the levels at which he himself can manipulate and generate. It is possible for this resistance to be overwhelmed and for him to actually be burned, but his powers operate at such a level that this would be a rare occurrence.
