Origin
Born in the mountainous area of Minidoka, Idaho, Albert M. Pine, or Alpine, learned to climb as a way to distance himself from his problems. This not only instilled a love of climbing, but helped him earn a spot on the G.I. Joe team, as he had the ability to climb with all kinds of encumbrances. His best friend on the GI Joe team is Bazooka.
Creation
Alpine was first introduced as a toy in 1985 and then as a comic character one year later by writer Larry Hama.
