Leatherneck

Leatherneck

Leatherneck was the second Marine to join the G.I. Joe team when they opened to other military branches. Rough, tough, mean and crude - he's a hard man to like, but an easy man to respect. He'll never leave a teammate behind.

Leatherneck's real name is Wendell A. Metzger from Stromsburg, Nebraska. His file stated that he was the meanest corporal at Gitmo. He was then the roughest tech sergeant of the First Recon Battalion in Vietnam. Then he was the toughest drill sergeant on Paris Island. Now he's a gruff, tough as nails Gunnery Sergeant.

Leatherneck is abrasive, overly opinionated, and hard to get along with. He has little tolerance or patience for weakness, laziness, and dishonesty. But he's a beast in battle, he's trustworthy, and always dependable.
