Sandstorm
An Autobot reconnaissance scout, he is also depicted as a member of the commando unit the Wreckers. The cartoon presented a different take, painting him as more of a pacifist. This entry is for the Generation One version of the character.

Toy History
Sandstorm's first figure came out in 1986, as one of the Autobot triple-changers. He had the alternate modes of a helicopter and a dune buggy. His next figure came out in 1997 as a Mega-sized figure in the short-lived KayBee Toys exclusive Machine Wars series. The figure was a repainted version of the European-exclusive Turbomaster Rotorstorm, only with the missile-firing mechanisms removed from the weapons, along with the missiles (due to US toy safety standards at the time). His most recent figure was from the 2010 "Hunt for the Decepticons" sub-series of Transformers, where it was a repaint of the Legends class Beachcomber figure (from the 2008 "Transformers: Universe" series) in the G1 figure's color scheme.
