Windblade was part of a “Fan Built Bot” poll on Hasbro's site for the 30th Anniversary of the Transformers franchise on April 13, 2013. After the poll ended Windblade was revealed July 19 at San Diego Comic Con and finally made her debut in Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye #26 during the Dark Cybertron Story Arc.
