Amanda, along with Darren, Yoshi, Liam, and Gabriel, was part of a small group of friends who discovered the Undernet when they were teenagers. Back then, she was dating Liam. Now a single mother of four, she lives in the Texas suburbs and runs a small IT business.
Recently, a security breach allowed outsiders to access the Undernet. Gabriel urgently needs his old friends' help to seal the breach before it's too late. To bring them together, he arranges first-class flights for them and books an entire three-story hotel in Pennsylvania to serve as their headquarters. The hotel is located near the site where Gibson Lane, a 15-year-old boy, recently massacred nearly 60 people in his neighborhood.
Amanda and Darren are initially tasked with going to Gibson's former residence and burning it down to erase any traces of the Undernet. As they spread gasoline around the house, they realize someone is still inside. Before setting the fire, they decide to go in and get the person out. In Gibson’s bedroom, they find Fausta, sitting in front of a computer, completely entranced by the Undernet. Using their knowledge of the network, they manage to pull her out of her catatonic state, but she appears possessed.
Meanwhile, PH34R, watching from outside, sets fire to the house. Caught off guard by the flames, Darren and Amanda barely manage to escape with Fausta. They bring her back to the hotel, hoping to find a way to cure her from the Undernet’s influence.
Later that day, Amanda, Liam, Darren, and Yoshi catch PH34R stabbing Gabriel in one of the hotel rooms. Darren forces PH34R to back away by threatening her with his weapon, but Gabriel is already critically wounded. Some of them want to kill PH34R, but Gabriel stops them, insisting that they will need her to end this once and for all. PH34R escapes, but Gabriel, cradled in Liam’s arms, dies moments later.
Before his final breath, Gabriel reveals that he has just destroyed the Internet worldwide. Only one network remains operational for them to continue the fight: w0rldtr33.net.
