While covering for his friend Billy, he is abducted by aliens as he was investigating Jansen's Field. He tried to explain to his wife, but she left him and took the kids because she thought he was cheating on her. Placed on indefinite leave, the psychiatrists recommended the Xenoholics Group for Bob to seek help.
While apprehensive in character he appears to be mostly normal and courageous underneath, but still traumatized by the abduction. Joining the Xenoholics Group was an attempt to move past the abductions and also regain the ability to see his children legally. When the group ends up in Club Sci-Fi, Bob puts in the call to his good friend Detective Briscoe who is ready to help to group, but his face is blown off by FBI Agent Wax.
