Captain Pikell is the leader of a Star Trek like team. His first appearance has his team in their space ship drifting into a nearby star to their deaths, but Allen The Alien who just happened to be flying by manages to save them.

His next appearance has him assisting Nolan and Allen, in collecting Rognarr to use in the Viltrumite War. But due to Pikell's incompetence, his team was merely supposed to move this solar shield blocking the planet where the Rognarr lived, thus thawing all the Rognarr out slightly but still having them incapacitated. Instead Pikell's team destroyed the solar shield completely, thus the Rognarr completely thawed and were too ferocious to capture.

During the Viltrumite War, Pikell was in charge of transporting Nolan, Allen, Tech Jacket, Invincible and Oliver to the front lines of the Viltrumite War, but their ship was attacked by the Viltrumite Conquest, and got destroyed. The bridge of the space ship detaches in the event of irreparable damage, and Pikell and his team were able to escape with that.

Pikell returned to Thaedus the head of the Coalition of Planets, to report on the Viltrumite attack. Thaedus was furious and upset with the outcome, but understood there is not much Pikell could have done.
