History

Alex Barros gained his powers (as did his brother) after the mysterious hull breach of his father’s research sub, that subsequently took the life of his father. Alex, along with his brother, was contacted by Battlestone immediately upon the media exposure of the brothers new powers.

Drawn in by Battlestone’s promises of righteousness, Coldsnap’s career as a super powered operative was mired in tragedy. During their first encounter with the Bloodstrike team, Alex’s power regulator was damaged, sending his powers out of control and resulting in his transformation into a more physically powerful ice-giant of sorts.

Alex never did find a cure for his condition before he was savagely murdered by the Katellan warrior Combat. His last act was an attempt at avenging the apparent death of his girlfriend and teammate Thermal, also at the hands of Combat. Ironically, his death was ultimately caused by the man in charge of the attack ; the man that lead him to his unfortunate fate, Battlestone.

Personality

Before his physical transformation Coldsnap was overconfident, and enjoyed the thrill of combat. His transformation making any sort of regular life impossible, Alex only managed to get through each day with the support of Thermal. Her subsequent death, had he lived, would surely have driven Alex over the edge.

Powers and Abilities

Coldsnap’s advanced ice form, while alienating him from any sort of normal life, made him far more physically tough (even more so than his brother). He’s covered with a thick layer of ice, and can generate cold and manipulate ice at will.
