Crossjack
- Jack Xaver
Origin
Jack Xaver was just a small town boy born with superhuman aim employing any random object (except for an actual bow and arrow.) He was recruited by the prominent super team Third Gen, and served with them for enough time to be involved in events that paralleled major crossovers like Deathmate. Crossjack gained infamy when it was revealed that he was having an affair with Neon, the wife of Third Gen's Christian Nationalist team leader, the Camo Crusader. Crossjack was terminated from the team, and thanks to contracts he'd signed, barred from super-heroics by Third Gen Enterprises. Returning unemployed to living with his parents, Jack Xaver is broadly known and near universally hated for this indiscretion. Becoming embroiled in a local mystery tied to his abandoned identity, Xaver feels compelled to investigate just outside the legal limits placed upon him, constantly inviting clashes with local authorities and former teammates in his own neo-noir solo series.
Creation
Crossjack and his associated characters were created by Tim Seeley and Tony Fleecs as retroactive continuity implants into the Image Comics universe, filling the hole left by Extreme Studios and Wildstorm when their properties were sold off by their creators to other parties.
