Origin

David is the son of the late senator David Hamantaschen Sr., and although he followed in his father's footsteps and joined the Bon Vivant Diner's Club, he never liked it and went to Amelia Mintz with the plan to take the whole operation down. This plan never came to about in David's lifetime, as he was murdered in the Meadow Green Downs. The murder stabbed him with a pitchfork and shoved a rare Grey-Tailed Pygmy Marten down his throat as a message for others to keep their mouth shut.

Creation

David was created by John Layman and Rob Guillory for their series Chew. David only appeared in one issue, Chew #11 .

John Colby and Tony Chu get a phone call that there has been a murder at the Green Meadow Downs, there they find David's dead body tied to a chair with a pitchfork through his chest and a Marten shoved down his throat.

Tony takes a bite of David to learn that he spoke to Amelia Mintz, and that he was killed by someone in the Bon Vivant Diner's Club. The FDA agents track down David's killer and bring him to justice.
