Origin

Gray grew up in New York City, in the Little Germany neighborhood of Manhattan. She lived in a small apartment with her father and her little sister Helga. She was a disobedient child, but did not have a model father. He took her to burgle houses and warehouses. This may be how she became a chronic kleptomaniac. Gray can't help but steal things, even if she doesn't need them. When her parents died, she was a wanted criminal.

Later, while attending a friend's wedding with her sister Helga, a fight broke out. While she had retired alone to a beach, she came across something that had contaminated her. It was clear to her that she had become a vampire, as she now feared the sun and had developed certain superhuman powers. Several memories of her past disappeared with her transformation. Gray is now over 185 years old and still does not feel like she knows herself well. She speaks German and Spanish fluently.

Since becoming a vampire, she has held several jobs that she has always had difficulty keeping: spy, ballet teacher for children, pizza delivery girl… The most significant job was working for Director Tsukumary. She was a special division private for oddity hunting.

Gray now rents a room in the house of Ivory, another vampire she met a few years ago. The house is also shared by Matt, a video game enthusiast, and newcomer Vince, with whom she later falls in love.

Character Evolution

Grayson has increasingly restless nights. She talks in her sleep, names people and often wakes up screaming for help. She sometimes hears screams in her head, has red eyes and chest pains. In one of her dreams, a conquistador named Gabriel asks her to act, he tells her that he is having more and more difficulty keeping "her" at a distance but Gray doesn't know who he's talking about. Gabriel predicts a bad fate for her if she does not take control. Gray then believes that her dreams are caused by the recent death of a former love interest. She is going to burn all the letters and memories she has of him.

Vampire, or not ?

It is during a day at an aquapark that things evolve. Gray is perched on a very high dive and an intense pain makes her fall into the pool below. Her body, too heavy to be moved by those trying to save her, will remain at the bottom of the water while she's inside her head. She sees herself in a movie theater with a little girl who has red skin. The girl explains that she lives in her, whom she sees through her eyes. She tells her that it's Gabriel, the man Gray sees in her dreams, who is the cause of all this. But when Gabriel took the little girl's body, she transmitted a curse to him: an insatiable thirst for blood, a weakness to the sun. The little girl would therefore be Gray's vampire.

Gabriel shows up and arrives very upset, he asks the little girl to get away from Gray and asks her what she told him. Gray protects the little girl and plants a knife in Gabriel's back, before finishing him off with a powerful kick. As she's about to run away with the little girl, the girl temporarily transforms into a monster. At that moment, in the pool, a curious form rises above the water, surrounded by red stripes with two large eyes in the center.

When the little girl returns to her normal state, she explains to Gray that she's one of the Gods of Santo Pedro, who ruled to protect the city hundreds of years ago. Everything stopped when Gabriel ate their flesh, during a war. To get revenge, she had clung to his spirit. Later, Gabriel was betrayed and his body - along with the God - was thrown into the sea for centuries. When Gray accidentally found traces of their remains on the beach, they had hope of living again. In reality, Gabriel was Gray's vampire and the little girl-God has just freed Gray from him. The little girl-God then tries to convince Gray to give her her body so that she can save the world from what awaits it.

Gray attacks the God, who now has the form of an adult woman. She is too powerful for her, she wants to force the transition. While Gray is almost defeated, Gabriel appears and, exhausted, attacks the woman and knocks her out for a few moments. He tears off part of her cheek and asks Gray to eat it. Gray, who had lost an arm and part of a leg, regains her whole body and manages to control the God woman, who will however remain inside her. The structure above the pool splits and Gray emerges with blood red skin, red eyes and black marks on her face.

Gray now feels lighter and much stronger physically, but also thirsty for blood. She had not wanted blood for over 50 years. She's no longer a vampire but rather something stronger and more dangerous, with a malicious entity living inside of her and attempting to retake control.

Samhain

Later, during a Halloween party, a hateful entity named Samhain comes to cut off Gray's head to escape with her body. Ivory - Gray's vampire friend - goes into the forest to meet him, with Gray's head still talking. The ground opens up under his feet, and he finds himself fall in a cave under Santo Pedro, once dug by ancestors. Gray's body is attached in the air by a kind of spider webs. Samhain was human before he was mutilated and almost left for dead. An angel discovered him in this state and rebuilt him. But this angel needs a body to free the world from its aberrations, from its monstrosities.

Samhain manages to throw Gray's head into a stream to move it away. But Ivory manages to free Gray's body, which will then join her head. Gray will thus succeed in killing Samhain, using a new power that gives her 6 arms. Gray is more and more powerful, thanks to the entity in her.

Eda, the War Demon

While Gray is visiting a natural history museum in New York, she sees a painting of a female conquistador sitting on a throne, named Eda. At the same time, she has stomach pains and a crest lights up on her chest, the same one as the one in the painting. Gray also notices that Eda has marks on her face that look like hers. She must now find this woman and talk to her.

Vince

No Caption Provided

Gray has become attached to this young man who came to live with his cousin Ivory. After a few years of living together they fell in love with each other. Even though Gray is taller and much more powerful than Vince (a simply human), she loves him and is ready to kill to protect him from all dangers. He's there for her and does what he can to help her find her answers.

Powers and abilities

Gray seems to have some abilities (or limitations) that are found in most vampires, even if she's not quite one. She has superhuman strength, able to rip a parking meter off the ground easily for example. She is also super fast, she can move at a speed that makes her difficult to see with the naked eye. She always goes out at night, she must avoid the sun. But to this day her greatest asset, which she has not yet fully mastered, is her ability to transform; she has the power to consume and combine beings into one.

Grayson also has the ability to fly, a regenerative ability, phasing and make 4 extra arms appear to fight. She seems to have other abilities that remain to be discovered.
