Origin

Having lost his father at the age of 10, during a burglary gone wrong, Ivory's childhood was not the happiest. Rage and anger took over the sadness of this loss and his uncle Goldie was intrigued by what Ivory was going through. He took him under his wing and wanted to transform these feelings into something useful, something that could improve the city. Ivory thus became a master in the art of killing. For several years, his money was acquired through the contracts that his uncle gave him. No one around him (or almost) knew that he was a hitman.

Other secrets are very well kept. First the fact that he is a vampire. Only Goldie and Gray know, this one had noticed it when she met him a few years ago, believing she was a vampire herself. She promised him never to reveal it. Then, Ivory has a monstrous entity inside him that can appear at any time, the Roggenwolf. Unfortunately, he has no control over this monstrosity. Children are the Roggenwolf's primary food source and to entice and torment its victim, it imitates their looks. Ivory made a pact with Gray about it, she must kill him if she sees that he puts the lives of others in danger when he’s transformed.

Character evolution

When he chose to take his little cousin Vince into his home, he felt like he was doing something good for the first time in his life. There was no way he was going to tell him about his immoral activities, though. Vince, whom he had known when he was younger (their mothers were very close) had just lost his mother and it was normal for him to take care of his "aunt's" boy. With his roommates Matt and Grayson, he made room for Vince and thought he could help him grow up by being a parental figure. Matt is a video game programmer who has become a specter of death and Grayson believes she’s a vampire.

Five years later, Ivory wasn’t exactly Vince’s ideal role model. He tried to get a job teaching at Vince’s school, but his reputation preceded him. His violent outbursts and less-than-orthodox family life were taking their toll on him. Increasingly depressed, Ivory was addicted to painkillers and neglected his responsibilities (such as paying the bills). He would often disappear for days at a time, without warning, and no longer paid attention to his best friend Matt. Despite these behaviors, his family meant a lot to him.

The chance encounter with a childhood crush, Molly, will be the source of changes for Ivory. He loves this woman very much and he begins to regret his wrongs, he becomes aware of what is wrong.

Things are not so simple however because a vampire killer he left for dead during one of his last contracts reappears and wants revenge. Ivory will be tied up in the trunk of his car for several days, without being able to give news to his loved ones.

When the vampire killer frees him, at Key West (2 hours from Santo Pedro), it’s to ask Ivory to go and steal an important book from the house of the author Hernest Hemingway. Inside, Ivory finds the book but has no real intention of giving it to him. The vampire will eventually transform into a homunculus, a malevolent oddity, and a fight will ensue. Ivory will succeed in defeating him, thanks to the Roggenwolf. After that, the guardian of Hemingway's house, a man full of common sense, gave Ivory a sort of magic collar that can contain the Roggenwolf. As long as he wears it, the beast cannot manifest itself.

This meeting with the guardian and the necklace will really help Ivory get back on the right path. He explained his absence to Molly, apologized to his friend Matt, spent time with Vince… He also confessed to Vince his past as a killer and promised him that he had stopped. The only thing he has not yet been able to confess is the fact that it was his Roggenwolf who took Matt's life. Matt never knew what killed him and would really like to find out who did this to him. Ivory even agreed to help him look, with his guilt. The house in Santo Pedro is now for sale and each must take a different path. Ivory has planned to leave for California with Molly.

Grayson

On occasion, Ivory will do his part to help Gray in her battles with entities and in her search for identity. At a Halloween party, Samhain (a powerful homunculus) showed up and took advantage of Gray being alone to cut off her head, then ran away with Gray's body. Ivory retrieved Gray's head, which was still talking, to go meet this monster and retrieve her body. Samhain offered Ivory to let him take Gray's body, in exchange for freeing him from his Roggenwolf. Ivory refused and freed Gray's body, who was able to regain her head and defeat Samhain.

Unfortunately, Samhain will return a few weeks later, more powerful. He will kidnap Vince during a movie screening at the cinema. Ivory accompanied Gray to try to save him. Gray told him that she would not be able to do everything alone and asked him to free his Roggenwolf. Ivory knows that if he removes the necklace, it will probably not be possible for him to put it back on. But to save Vince he accepts and transforms. Gray will defeat Samhain again, but when she comes back, she sees Vince in the mouth of the Roggenwolf. She will extract him and take him urgently to the hospital. Gray returns to the scene of the battle and sees Ivory who has taken back his human form. He apologizes to Gray, who is furious because he seriously injured Vince. Ivory reminds her of their pact and asks her to kill him. Gray will pierce his skull with her fingers and leave Ivory for dead. Has the Roggenwolf said its last word?

Powers and abilities

Vince is a vampire, but he doesn't really use any special abilities. He has a Roggenwolf inside him that is extremely dangerous when it emerges, but Ivory has no control over when it manifests. Nor can he control what this wolf monster does, once it is out. He has some skills in handling weapons.
