Little is known about Jellybean before Tony Chu arrives in Yamapalu and visits the Paradise View, where he becomes under surveillance by Jellybean and his partner Lin Sae Woo. Jellybean is a specially trained rat that works with Lin Sae Woo and the USDA. He is equipped with miniature cameras and parabolic microphones for surveillance.
Creation
Jellybean was created by John Layman and Rob Guillory for their series, Chew. Jellybean only appeared in issue #7, International Flavor Part 2.

Jellybean and Lin Sae Woo are working a USDA case in Yamapalu, and this is where they cross paths with Tony Chu. Jellybean watches him arrive at the Paradise View Hotel and follows him for Woo.
Later he returns to Woo, who puts Jellybean in his cage and that is where the rat is forced to watch helplessly while Woo is attacked by The Vampire Cibopath. The Vampire kills Woo and then eats Jellybean, gaining his knowledge.
