Glee Goodbody was employed as a personal trainer in the 1980s. She was superficial and image obsessed thanks to oppressive mother. She grew up mean-spirited, which finally caught up with her when she pushed one of her clients, Trisha, so hard that she had a heart attack. When Glee was fired for this, she lashed out, swinging a barbell at her manager and mouthing off about Trisha, which was overheard by Trisha's sister. This led to Glee being served a wrongful death lawsuit. Getting desperate, Glee wandered on to Hyde Street, where she met Sister Hood, a tarot card reader and Hyde Street resident. She helped Glee get vengeance on Trisha's sister, however, instead of delivering her to The Scorekeeper, Glee became a new resident, running Fat Free, a health and wellness store that she refused to leave.

In 1983, one of Miss Goodbody's customers was a stressed and overweight woman who was positive that there was nothing in Fat Free that could help her lose weight. Miss Goodbody disagreed and sold her a bottle of Devour, a wonder weight lost drug.

Years later, that customer has gotten her sister Sheri and daughter Patricia addicted to Devour, and now Lily, her granddaughter is about to get married and is worried about her weight. This causes the grandmother to bring Lily into Fat Free to meet Miss Goodbody.

Lily doesn't want to take the wonder drug Devour and tells Miss Goodbody that she can lose the weight herself. This causes Miss Goodbody to plot with the grandmother to force the Devour on Lily.

Sometime later, Lily is on Devour, and so her newborn baby, this brings great joy to Miss Goodbody who has been selling Devour to anyone who believes it is a miracle drug and not the sinister parasite it truly is.
