A flock of blackbirds following Rook are is introduced in Rook: Exodus #1 by Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok, but Poe was not identified and named until Rook: Exodus #6. He is named after the poet, Edgar Allan Poe, who wrote the poem, "The Raven."
