Samantha's father died when she was very young. Her mother remarried, but their marriage was marred with fighting. When her stepfather was fed up with her mother, he took it out on Samantha. She rearranged her mom's bookshelf so she could hide in it. One day, Darla Ritz saved her and took her in.

She became romantically involved with Cassie Hack and made plans with her to elope together. Just before they could, a slashed possessed Cassie who then killed everyone at the Academy For Girls, including her lover Samantha.
