Origin

Vince, a rather shy young boy, has just lost his mother. He now calls himself an orphan but his father is still alive. Since he disowned him, he prefers to say that he is dead. It's 1998 and he's 12 years old. He's then sent to live in Santo Pedro, Florida, with his older "cousin" Ivory. Ivory is not really his cousin, but Vince and Ivory's mothers were great friends and Vince's mother often referred to Ivory's mother as Vince's aunt. They spent a lot of time together in their youth and the idea of ​​going to live with Ivory was the best, even if they had not seen each other for a few years.

Character Evolution

Vince has never been to Santo Pedro before, but his mother had told him a lot about it. She would have loved to show him its attractions; this is actually the place where she met his father.

Vince is welcomed at the airport by one of Ivory's roommates, Matt. Before taking him home, Matt shows him around part of the city and Vince is fascinated by everything he sees. He discovers a city filled with monsters, ghosts and all sorts of supernatural entities. And all these things wander around the city as if everything were normal. He was particularly struck by seeing a vampire girl flying through the sky, dressed as a pizza delivery girl.

After arriving home, it was while going to discover the skate park that he met Gray, a vampire. Back home with her later, he was more than surprised to see that she lived there too.

First love

Five years later, in 2003, Vince has acclimated well to his new life, his school, his friends. His relationship with his roommates has continued to evolve and they still live together. He now has feelings for Gray, but he doesn't know if it's shared. He kept her away from his friends Tanner, Marcus and Keisha for 5 years, without really knowing why.

Vince spends more and more time with Gray and is more and more troubled. At 17, he learns what it is to fall in love, and he has difficulty managing his life. He misses classes, sleeps in class and has bad grades. His teacher worries about his chances of being admitted to New York University if he continues like this. Vince wants to study film later.

Unable to tell her his feelings, he writes a song to Gray and recites the lyrics to her while she’s asleep in the living room. She’ll later find him in his bed to sleep glued to him.

The Complex Life of Gray

The following days Vince will have a visit from the Acting Director of the Chimera agency, Tsukomari, who is leading an investigation around Gray. The man subtly lets him know that he’s an ex of Gray's, mentioning among other things that she prefers blond men. Tsukomari looks for Gray and tries to get information about her. He'll be killed by the Roggenwolf later that day and in the evening, it’s Mary Tsukumary who’ll wait for Vince in the backyard of his house. She told him that the director had died and that she was taking over.

Vince, now dyed blond, spends an evening at the water park with his friends and Gray. While perched on a very high dive with Gray, Vince will see her suddenly taken ill and fall into the pool, inert. She’ll stay at the bottom of the water for several minutes, no one can get her out. A few moments later a structure in the shape of a red-hot air balloon with eyes takes shape above the pool. Vince witnesses the scene, helpless, trying to understand what Gray is doing.

Mary Tsukomary, who was on site with her team of agents, handcuffed Vince and his friends and put them in a van to get them away from there. She evacuates the place and doesn't want any interference while she prepares to blow up the structure. Matt, having seen the scene on TV news, takes his car and manages to reach the van of his friends and cause an accident. His friends freed, Vince returns to the water park in the hope of helping Gray. Mary will again try to get him away and will hit him with a bullet in the shoulder to subdue him. Vince, now unconscious in Mary arms, will miss the moment when Gray leaves the structure and resists the explosion of the missile on her. He’ll wake up in Gray's room, a few hours later. Gray explains to him what just happened and tells him that she is not a vampire, but something much more powerful. They kiss for the first time, and they now officially date.

At a Halloween party, Gray had his head cut off by Samhain, a homunculus, who ran away with her body. Vince wanted to help Ivory and Gray's head bring her body back, but it was too dangerous for him. Luckily Gray prevailed and returned with Ivory later, much to Vince's delight.

New-York

Weeks later, Vince is called for an interview at New York University, and everyone goes with him and takes the opportunity to have a fun outing. Vince saw Ivory beat up a man in the airport bathroom and was shocked. He later confronted him, and Ivory confessed that he didn't do only good things in his life. Vince made him promise to never hurt anyone again. After his interview, Vince took Gray to the part of town where she grew up, wanting to remind her of some memories.

Samhain, again

A few days later, back in Santo Pedro, Matt is getting ready to leave for Japan. He’s going to give his motorcycle to Vince and with Gray they are going to go to the amusement park. Samhain, stronger than during the last fight, is going to make a new appearance at this park and is going to kidnap Vince, to attract Gray. She will have needed the help of Ivory and her Roggenwolf to save Vince but after her difficult fight against Samhain, she notices on her return that Vince is hanging in the mouth of the wolf monster, in very bad shape. Mad with rage, she is going to extract him and take him urgently to the hospital.

The Roggenwolf has made a real massacre, the city seems destroyed. Vince is going to wake up in the hospital a few days later, one leg missing. He goes to the roof to get some air, and the sun burns him intensely. Gray transformed him to help him recover from his serious injuries.
