Avagddu is the son of the earth goddess and a tainted, brute of a demon. Avagddu is misshaped and covered with boils; he also has only one good eye. He is the dark side of the Earth Power personified.

Avagddu's home is in Otherworld but he can rise from the Cauldron of Blood when called. At one time he answered to Medb and agreed to do her bidding. Medb summoned him to kill Niamh but he ended up eating himself.
