Origin

The G-Man Comics version of Dara is an immortal native of the other-dimensional realm of Otherworld. When Taranis the Thunderlord and his companion Boden the Blind discovered the lost settlement of Tine, they were greeted by Dara who took them to meet her father, the Chieftain Druil. Druil and Dara were eager to reestablish contact with Avalorr, and after helping Dara and the natives of Tine defeat the cruel Cyngar, Taranis, Boden, and Dara returned to Avalorr where Dara would act as Tine's ambassador.

Dara was presented to the High Court of Avalorr, but it was at that moment that the god of deception Aenyr attacked Avalorr with an army of Fire Trolls. Dara and the other gods of Avalorr battled these trolls, eventually winning through to victory. Following this battle, Taranis and Dara began a romance that lasted centuries before finally marrying.

When Taranis disappeared after leaving to battle the dark elf Valthana Shadowmoon, Dara remained true to her husband, never giving up hope that he was somehow still alive somewhere. And even after King Nuada ordered the isolation of Avalorr from the rest of Otherworld, she continued to try to discover his whereabouts.

In modern times, Boden became aware of Taranis' return in the Earthrealm, and Dara pledged to go and bring him home at long last. Her adventure is ongoing.

Powers and Weapons

Like all the Celtic gods of Avalorr, Dara is immortal, and possesses superhuman strength, speed, durability, and stamina. Additionally, she is a highly-skilled warrior, and one of the finest swordswomen in all Otherworld. She carries a sword that is able to slice through dimensions, allowing her to travel wherever she desires. She also wields the Golden Bow, whose string can only be drawn by herself and her father Druil. Arrows launched from the bow retain their full force upon striking a target, regardless of the distance traveled.
