Pemphredo ("alarm") is one of the Gray Sisters. In the myth of Perseus, the hero encountered Pemphredo and her sisters while searching for the nymphs to aid him in his quest of slaying Medusa, who happened to be the Graeae's sister. Pemphredo and the others reluctantly told Perseus upon threat of destroying their eye Medusa's location.
