George Edward Challenger, better known as Professor Challenger is a post-Edwardian era (1910s into 1920s) scientist known for both his innovative ideas, and his short fuse and violent temper.

It was Challenger who with a group of other people explored Maple White Land, a plateau in South America that was home of the last living dinosaurs, drilled the deepest hole ever into the Earth’s crust and finding that the planet was a living creature after making it scream, became the first human to experience teleportation, and piloted a ship into the Netherworld.
