Wilbur has joined forces with the Deadites to use the Necronomicon and Herbert West to bring forth Yog-Sothoth to devour humanity and bring about the end of the world.
Wilbur has learned to use the dark arts to bring forth the Deadites to torment Ash, the Chosen One. He then planned to sacrifice Ash to Yog-Sothoth but Sugarbaby used her magic to interrupt the spell, causing Yog-Sothoth to turn on Wilbur and eat his acolyte instead of imparting him with God-like power.

When Rick mentions the Necronomicon, Wilbur transforms into a cosmic horror. It looks like Wilbur may kill Rick and the Smith family, but Summer gets the drop on him and shoots him through the neck killing him.
