While in Tibet Fred Carson is given a magic ring by a Yogi that gives him many amazing powers. He returns to America to fight evil and serve justice. Fred works as a radio engineer and inventor.
Creation
Sometimes known as the first "Superman Clone". The character himself was created by Will Eisner and first appeared in Wonder Comics #1 published by Fox Feature Syndicate.
After his first appearance DC Comics sued Fox Feature Syndicate. DC thought he was too similar to Superman. While the publisher and even Will Eisner himself claimed in court that Wonder Man was invented before Superman. DC won the case.
