Silver was a wild mustang who was caught and trained by Lone Ranger and Tonto. Tonto named him Silver because the white hair reminded him of the metal. There were 4 horses who portrayed him in the tv series because after each take the horse had to be cleaned and groomed because of the dirt on the set. Silver was more famous then Trigger from the Roy Rogers tv series.
