Captain Archibald Haddock has been navigating the seas for more than twenty years before meeting Tintin in The Crab With The Golden Claws. In this album, the Captain's ship called the Karaboudjan is used by criminals to smuggle opium without the Captain's knowledge. Tintin helps Captain Haddock and since then, they are best friends.
