Origin

With his twin brother Tomas, Morand performed tricks on the market, such as escaping from shackles and guessing blindfolded what the other one was holding in his hands. His brother had met lady Sorcha and had fallen in love with her. She convinced him to murder her husband, so she could be with him. On the night of the murder, Morand secretly followed his brother into the woods and witnessed the murder. Confronting his brother, it turned out that they were both betrayed by Sorcha, who delivered the brothers to the Host, a servant of the Dark One.

Under the influence of the Host, Sorcha killed Tomas. This resulted in Morand's left eye going opaque, claiming his twin brother took a part of him when he died. When the Host reprimanded Sorcha for claiming the setup was her idea, she broke the spell that was holding Morand. With his newfound magic powers, Morand battled the Host and his demons, before the Host fled away.
