First issue:
A'sai kidnapped The Watcher after a bet made with his friend Grunz using a weapon once belonging to Galactus. A'sai lost the bet against Uatu when Spider-Man helped a young kid named Gerbil win a football game against a bully named Truck after being down fifty-six to nothing. The Watcher eventually turned A'sai into a joker card at an Atlantic City casino.
Creation
A'sai was created by Jim Shooter and Sal Buscema in 1988 and first appeared in Web of Spider-Man # 34.
Powers & Weapons
A'sai had enhanced strength and possessed a deadly weapon which gave him the ability to fire a powerful energy blast. The weapon enabled him to cloak himself and snare his enemies with energy shackles.
