Origin

Shoon'kwa was the daughter of a Wakandan general and a member of the Dora Milaje. When she was much younger, she grew deathly ill. She had made peace with her destiny when she was visited by the spirit of the last Atlas Bear, Africa's only ursine species, hunted to extinction by the Romans. He made a bargain with Shoon'kwa, he would extend her life but grant her precognition to see her own species extinction if it was ever threatened, just as he saw his own. Unfortunately, when she shared these predictions, she was exiled as heretic from Wakanda.

Major Story Arcs

The Posse

To stave off her most recent visions, she hired Domino and her posse to go on secret missions. The missions were secret even from the Posse, who were only given as much information as they needed. This angered Domino, especially when she was asked to kill Longshot, who was otherwise known for being a hero. Domino forced the issue, besting Atlas Bear in combat and winning the truth from her.

Atlas Bear went as far as to share her vision with Dom of a brainwashed Longshot enforcing the will of Mojo on the world. Scared by the danger, Dom wouldn't let any of her team but Atlas Bear accompany her against Longshot. Dom rightfully saw Longshot as brainwashed and defended him from Atlas Bear, who was ultimately inspired enough to find a cure for Longshot.

Once cured, her vision changes, and she is impressed by Domino.

Hotshots

Now a member of The Posse, Atlas Bear joined a mission given to them simultaneously by Black Widow and White Fox. A dangerous alien artifact was uncovered in Antarctica by climate scientists and then went missing somewhere in Argentina. Multiple countries were claiming ownership of the artifact, and the super-spies didn't believe any of them should have it, which is why they hired the Posse.
