The son of an American G.I. and a Vietnamese woman, Eric Conroy is the super strong mutate called Bloodstrike who, as a member of the Folding Circle, opposed the New Wariors.

Eric Conroy's father served in the Vietnam war with his military unit, the Half-Fulls. He and his comrades were coerced into marrying the brides of a cult they stumbled upon. The cult, called the Dragon's Breadth cult, was led by a woman named Kai, a powerful mystic that used her power to try to access the Universal Wellspring, a magical portal located in the heart of the Dragons Breadth temple. Eric's father took his new bride home with him, and they had Eric a few months later.

Eric left his hometown to become a mob enforcer for a mobster in Chicago until Left Hand killed his master, but spared Conroy after realizing his father had serving with him in Vietnam. He recruited Eric into the Folding Circle. On one of the first missions with the team, Eric killed a man to cover for his teammates. The action transformed his body,causing his muscles to enlarge and a symbol to be imprinted on his chest in blood. His arms and legs were bound in unbreakable pink wrappings.

Upon returning to the Dragons Breadth temple to try to learn more about the Universal Wellspring, the Folding Circle found that Kai was still alive, and was planning to sacrifice both the New Warriors and The Folding Circle to gain the entirety of the Wellsprings power. Both teams fought Kai in an attempt to save their own lives, and Night Thrasher threw Kai into the Wellspring, where she perished.

Creation

Bloodstrike was created by Fabian Nicieza and Mark Bagley in 1992 and first appeared in New Warriors # 21.

Story Arcs

Civil War

During the Civil War, Bloodstrike registers under the Superhuman Registration Act and join the Thunderbolts Army. The Thunderbolts had to fight off cities filled with civilians who were suddenly empowered when the Grandmaster opened up the Wellspring of Power. The Thunderbolts were broken up into numerous squads and sent to various locations throughout the world. Bloodstrike was part of the Beta squad which also consisted of Texas Twister, Smiling Tiger, Coronary and Pretty Persuasion. This group was responsible of maintaining order in Los Angeles. During the fight, the mind of Bloodstrike and Smiling Tiger is taken over by the onslaught of the Wellspring's energies. Bloodstrike and Smiling Tiger turn on their teammates and take down Coronary and Pretty Persuasion.
