Brutacus was the son of a warlock named Nicholas Scratch. He was born in the supernatural village of New Salem along with six siblings. When Scratch ordered his mother Agatha Harknass, to stand trial for abandoning Salem for a new life in the outside world, he transformed Brutacus and his other children into inhuman creatures so that the Fantastic Four could not interfere. The children called themselves Salem's Seven. In a final battle between the Salem's Seven and Scarlet Witch (And Vision) an explosion of magical energies killed Brutacus and wiped out the entire population of New Salem.
Creation
Brutacus was created by Len Wein, George Perez and Joe Sinnott in 1977 and first appeared in Fantastic Four # 186.
Powers & Abilities
Brutacus could magically assume a mutated form in which he possessed superhuman strength. Even in human form he had limited abilities to wield magic.
