Brute Benhurst was a angry construction worker used by Enchantress to become the second Executioner and attack Thor.

Creation

Brute Benhurst was created by Tom DeFalco (writer), Ron Frenz (writer), and Joe Sinnott (artist) in Thor #402.

Major Story Arcs

Brute rages about his grievance with Jerry Sapristi. Meaning Jerry harm, Benhurst is intercepted by Sigud Jarlson (alias of Thor's). Sigurd handily subdues Benhurst long enough for the authorities to take him to jail.

Later in his cell, Benhurst is visited by the Enchantress accompanied by the Bloodaxe of Skurge. After a proposition of power, Benhurst is released from his bonds and transformed into her new Executioner. Surging with the power of the Bloodaxe, Benhurst attacks Thor, who had been dazed from his fight with Quicksand. Benhurst's surprise attack on Thor is interrupted a young Kevin Masterson, who leapt into action with his replica Mjolnir. Kevin is knocked away by Benhurst, sending Thor into a rage. Thor sends Benhurst flying with a mighty blow, and he lands head first into a wall incapacitating him. Enchantress appears to retrieve the Bloodaxe and Benhurst is later jailed once again.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

As Benhurst, he seemingly possesses above average human strength. Being able to send Eric Masterson flying away with ease.

As Executioner, he gains a massive increase in strength and physical prowess, but potentially not invulnerability evident from his immediate defeat from one hit of Thor's.

The Bloodaxe also gives Benhurst other magical abilities, though we only see him use it to summon ice.
