First issue:
Carlo Strange was active for several years prior to his first appearance. His supervillain career had the downside of neglecting his beloved daughter Carla. His guilt has turned into an obsession, offering her the world on a silver platter to see her happy.
His one-shot appearance depicted several of his inventions. He had a mental amplifying device, allowing him to telepathically take control of Iron Man from a distance. He was able to surround his private island with a forcefield, strong enough to withstand nuclear assault. He created an S-Bomb with destructive power of 200 megatons. He claimed to have enough of them to annihilate all life on the planet. He used them to blackmail national leaders.
Strange was defeated by his own daughter. She never wanted the world, just a father who spends time with her.

Carlo Strange was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963 and first appeared in Tales Of Suspense # 41.
