Origin

Ranjamaryam was Prince Baran's Chancellor and a friend of Patch, who "knew more Bawdy Songs" then the former X-man. He was deadly at poker and chess, and although he used people, he tried to hurt as few of them as possible. He was beaten to death by Roughouse and Bloodscream.

Creation

Ranja was created by Chris Claremont for his series Wolverine. Ranja was introduced and killed in the same issue, and like many of Chris Claremont's characters he created for the series, had a rich history with Wolverine. Which although never seen on the pages was implied through words and actions of the hero.
