Hawkeye meets the mysterious girl known as Cherry, whose real name is Darlene Penelope Wright, when she sells him her own 1970 Dodge Challenger. The two are instantly attracted to one another and wind up in bed. It is then that Cherry gets kidnapped by the Tracksuit Mafia for reasons unknown at this point. Hawkeye and his partner Kate Bishop manage to save Cherry, after which she leaves town by plane, but not before a goodbye kiss. Later she returns and brings Clint along to help her steal a safe from the Tracksuit Mafia. By having Clint attack them as a distraction, while she gets the safe. He is then arrested and the safe remains locked, but Clint has fallen somewhat in love with her.
Creation
Cherry was created by Matt Fraction and David Aja. Her first appearance was in Marvel's Hawkeye #3.
