Debra Jo Jory was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and transformed into a Joker with transparent flesh by the Wild Card Virus. She moved to the Jokertown section of NYC in the 1970s.
There she became a majority owner of The Crystal Palace, Jokertown's most famous nightclub with partner Charles Dutton.
Chrysalis had a romantic relationship with Yeoman, the Zen Archer hero, until 1987.
Chrysalis took Popinjay on a tour of Jokertown to assist in his investigation of the Jetboy Memorial bombing.
