Major Story Arcs

Cissy Ironwood was the daughter of a Empire State University professor. She began dating Parker, then also an ESU student. While walking home through Central Park from a date to a play, Parker and Ironwood were attacked by a werewolf. Trying to escape the creature, she was tackled forcefully, sustaining a concussion. Peter Parker drove the werewolf away and took Ironwood to Roosevelt Hospital.

After Parker, as Spider-Man, discovered that the werewolf was actually Doctor Strange cursed by an enemy, he found himself in battle with the transformed Master of the Mystic Arts. The battle carried into Roosevelt Hospital, where they passed through Cissy Ironwood's room. Happily, she slept through the altercation, the sounds of the combat leading her to believe that she was dreaming.

Sometime later, having made a full recovery, Cissy and Peter continued dating. On a date at the Technology 1980 Exhibition on the ESU campus, Cissy was on hand when Peter (again as Spider-Man) and Beast fought Killer Shrike and his ally, Modular Man. Still later, the couple were attacked in Cissy Ironwood's apartment by the Soviet Super Soldiers, sent by General Nicolai Kutzov. The Soviet Super Soldiers abducted her to Cheyenne Mountain to leverage her safety ensuring the cooperation of her father, Daniel Ironwood, in building an anti-matter bomb. Peter, once again as Spider-Man and Hulk interceded to stop the plan, but in the process, Cissy Ironwood's father was shot to death.

Returning home, Cissy Ironwood left New York City, travelling west.
