Creation
Dangard Ace was created by Leiji Matsumoto and Dan Kobayashi for the anime series Wakusei Robo Danguard Ace (1977-1978), arrived in America in Mattel's Shogun Warriors toy collection and was adapted into Marvel comics by Doug Moench and Herb Trimpe in 1979 and first appeared in Shogun Warriors # 2.
