Demmy Marston was a man that hired a samurai named Korain to eliminate Shang-Chi. Marston is confronted by Shang-Chi on his floating casino operation when Korain appears. Shang-Chi remembers Korain from his childhood because his skill as a samurai gained him respect in his father's court in Honan. Shang-Chi realizes that Korain hasn't aged but was younger because he was taking Fu Manchu's elixir of immortality. During the fight, Korain was forced to drink the elixir when pain filled his body and he aged to an old man. His youth and strength was restored but his heart could no longer endure the strain and he died when he lunged towards Shang-Chi. Korain's sword was released upon his death and it plunged into Marston's girlfriend's chest. Everything Marston did, was for his girl Diana and thought he would get rewarded by Fu Manchu if he could kill his son. Shang-Chi walked away while Marston mourned the death of Diana.
