Desmond Kline was a postal worker who idolized the Punisher. He was devastated when Frank Castle was believed to have been killed. Desmond made his own Punisher suit and confronted a trio of car thieves from the roof of another car. He slipped getting off the roof and fell to the ground. The criminals shot him and left him for dead.
